We are looking for a dynamic team member to assist and support the different services and processes that are taken care of at our Distribution Center at NAIT, in the HET building on Main Campus.

The position has a combination of physical and administrative tasks. Such as: handling of goods received, storage, reorganization of goods in our warehouse space and surplus site. Walking from 10,000 to 15,000 steps per day might be required at times. Use of mobile equipment: a forklift and a pallet jack are required. The use of different distribution software to receive track and publish products on our internal site is required.

Key Responsibilities:

Cover Shipping/Receiver position during vacation time:

  • Receive packages, pallets and all goods delivered to NAIT at Distribution Center- HET building.

  • Put away, storage and organize goods to be distributed.

  • Fill out documents, postage, and organize courier picking of goods to be shipped.

  • Operate forklift, pallet jacks, following our Safety procedures.

  • Use software to input and process data related to receiving and tracking of distribution of goods.

Support other Distribution tasks:

  • Assist the delivery of goods from the Distribution center to designated internal areas.

  • Assist the housekeeping of warehouse & Surplus area.

  • Assist the collection of surplus goods.

  • Take pictures of surplus items.

  • Publish surplus items on our website.


Skills & Abilities:

  • High Attention to detail & Organization skills.

  • Customer Service oriented.

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 65 lbs. alone or 250 lbs. with a partner.

  • Fit to stand for long hours and walk up to 15,000 steps daily.

  • Computer knowledge and experience with Inventory/warehouse software is preferred.

  • Forklift ticket certificate.

  • Whims and Transportation of dangerous goods is preferred.

  • Shipping/Receiving experience are an asset.

  • Sense of responsibility and judgement.

  • Ability to work independently.


Qualifications:

  • Completion of Grade twelve.

  • Valid Alberta operator's license and a clean abstract record.

  • Experience in warehouse operation setup is an asset.

  • Experience with Warehouse/ inventory software is preferred.

  • Experience driving a 3 TON truck is preferred.

  • Completion of WHMIS and First Aid training.

  • Transportation of Dangerous Goods certificate.

  • Equivalencies may be considered.

Applicants with education credentials earned outside of Canada should have their credentials evaluated by World Education Services or the International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS).


Remuneration: $49,886.20 - $62,451.48 annually, plus a comprehensive benefits package. (Classification - Materials Distributor III)

This position is covered by the Alberta Union of Provincial Employees (AUPE) Collective Agreement.
