We are currently seeking a Student Experience & Retention Coordinator to play a critical role in enhancing student engagement, retention, and success.
The Student Experience & Retention Coordinator will be responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating student engagement initiatives and retention programs that support student success. This role will work closely with faculty, staff, and student leaders to ensure a seamless and positive student experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement student retention strategies across the Students and Campus Life portfolio and across NAIT that promote student engagement and persistence.
Collaborate with various departments to design programs and initiatives that enhance the student experience.
Monitor and analyze student success data to identify trends and make informed decisions about program improvements.
Act as a resource and liaison for students, providing support and connecting them with relevant services.
Coordinate and facilitate events, workshops, and orientation programs that promote student belonging and retention.
Support the development and implementation of communication plans that effectively engage and inform students.
Assist with the assessment of retention programs and recommend strategies for continuous improvement.
Maintain accurate records and provide timely reports on program outcomes.
Skills & Abilities:
Significant knowledge and experience using theories and practices/principles related to student persistence and academic success.
Thorough experience in academic student services.
Ability to effectively collaborate with key stakeholders.
Significant knowledge and application of Project management skills.
Ability to effectively organize and prioritize work activities, and work autonomously.
Knowledge of Canadian Charter of Human Rights, Alberta Human Rights Act, FOIPP, Post-Secondary Learning Act.
Familiarity with data collection and analysis methods and techniques.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Knowledge of and skills using student administration systems (e.g., PeopleSoft), LMS (e.g., Moodle), digital workflow platforms (e.g., ServiceNow), and other educational technology platforms (e.g., Microsoft Teams, Panopto, etc.).
Strong project management, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with diverse student populations.
Experience using data and analytics to assess and improve student success initiatives.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and student information systems.
Qualifications:
Diploma in a related field required (Education, Social Sciences, or similar). Degree Preferred.
Minimum 3 years of experience in student affairs, academic advising, or a similar role.
Equivalencies may be considered.
Applicants with education credentials earned outside of Canada should have their credentials evaluated by World Education Services or the International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS).
Remuneration: $61,997.52 - $83,085.08 annually, plus a comprehensive benefits package. (Classification - Coordinator I).
This position is covered by the Alberta Union of Provincial Employees (AUPE) Collective Agreement.
