Successful applicants will mainly be responsible for site dispatch job functions and a wide variety of medical and first Aid related duties. Members must become fully versed with the clients OH&S program including the RTBS system. Officers will treat and record all First Aid incidents in accordance with WSBC regulations. Report writing and multitasking are an everyday occurrence. Medics must work in a fast paced, team environment as well as be able to work individually.

First Aid:

  • Provide advanced first aid including first response, preparing employees for transport, and providing all required documentation to other emergency response personnel.
  • Mitigate unsafe working conditions.
  • Drive the onsite ambulance.
  • Attend new and/or updated courses as requested; training paid for by company.

Dispatch:

  • Provide dispatch related services for the site.
  • Receive, send, and record telephone calls, as needed.
  • Recording of pertinent site activity via logs and computer programs
  • CCTV operation

Education:

  • High School Diploma
  • Valid OFA Level 3 (required)
  • Class 5 Driver's License

Experience:

  • Experience as a site medic in an operational setting.
  • Enthusiastic and committed approach with a history of building strong, trust-based relationships with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Candidate must be comfortable working 12-hour shifts (day and/or night) and must be physically fit to work in a Remote Location.
  • Candidates must have excellent Customer Services Skills and enjoying working in the People Industry
  • Candidate must have strong time management skills.
  • Candidates must be comfortable using a computer and various applicable programs.

Special Qualifications:

  • Clean Criminal Record Check
  • Customer Service Training (Will Train)
  • High School Diploma
  • Ability to Pass a pre-employment drug test.
  • Valid OFA Level 3 (required, recertification as required)
  • Demonstrated attributes in leadership, judgment, decision making, delegation, planning, organizing, problem solving, analytical skill, interpersonal sensitivity and tolerance are required.
  • Possess a valid Class 5 BC Driver's License, have a clean Driver's Abstract.
  • Requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills to review, evaluate, recommend changes and trouble shoot situations that arise in the daily operations on site.
  • Advanced computer skills required.
  • Capable of working in both a team and independent environment
  • Ability to prioritize multiple demands.

Communication:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to effectively mediate and intervene in workplace, client, and staff issues.
  • Capable of responding methodically to emergencies; fire, medical, security related
  • Report activity and occurrences in a comprehensible and timely manner.

Physical:

  • This is a position that requires a high energy individual who can multitask at all times and is able to work long hours (12-hour shifts) as required.
  • Excessive standing, sitting, and walking will be experienced.
  • Good health is imperative. Annual physical assessments may be required.

Mental:

  • Decision making, judgment, delegation, organizing, analyzing, and multi-tasking and problem solving are ongoing.
  • Must be extremely flexible and able to rapidly adjust to changing schedules.
  • Proven ability to problem solve, plan, analyze, organize, exercise judgment, make effective decisions and effective use of delegation and empowerment are important assets to success in this position.

Conditions:

  • Up to 12 hours of work each day.
  • Shift work required.
  • Officers must wear site PPE at all times which includes (, high visibility vests, hard hats, and eye protection in certain areas )
