The successful candidate will be reporting directly to the Manager, Customer Service and Process at DP World Fraser Surrey Inc. The members of the 517 team are responsible for the collection, recording, classifying and reporting of financial data relating to the export and import movement of cargo to and from the terminal. Note that this is a casual position therefore hours of work are not guaranteed.
In this role, you will:
  • To provide coverage and/or assistance to all areas of the Fraser Surrey Customer Service Team, dependent on demands, and business requirements, peak vacation times.
  • Performing all duties in accordance with procedures of each desk.
  • Liaise with customers to ensure they are provided with timely, accurate information and to ensure their needs are met in a professional manner.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders (Operations, Claims, Commercial, IT) to ensure efficient and accurate cargo movement and services in accordance with customer's needs/requests.
  • Input relevant data into company terminal operating system (CMSII).
  • Prepare and provide documentation and appropriate reports to relevant departments to ensure execution of invoices, claims, payments etc.
  • Takes direction from Manager, Customer Service & Process.
  • Follows standard operating procedures, policies & guidelines.
  • Communicates technical or operational problems to the Manager.
  • Filing & photocopying.
  • Assist on other duties, desks or areas as directed by Management.
  • Review all documentation for accuracy and compliance.

What you bring to the role:

  • Effective and efficient typing /data entry skills.
  • Strong problem solving skills, coupled with above average interpersonal skills.
  • A solid understanding of the documentation process for the movement of cargos.
  • Positive attitude, ability to work and handle multiple tasks in a high volume transaction environment.
  • Detailed oriented, accurate and analytical.
  • Ability to consistently meet tight and strict deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills across multiple formats including in person, telephone and email.

Note:

  • Overtime may be necessary for the completion of duties on this desk.
  • The timing of the actual transition into this position will be dependent on the training requirements for the successful candidate and the staffing requirements of the current working schedule.
  • This position is a floater position, and the duties, training and responsibilities may change based on the needs of the department and the business requirements.
  • Candidates must be available (but not guaranteed) to work peak periods (Spring Break, Summer Vacation, Christmas).
