The opportunity
Our bold, dynamic and passionate development team has the honor of building and nurturing relationships with donor and volunteer who raise funds to enable Heart & Stroke to deliver its critical mission and reduce the impact of heart disease and stroke in Canada.
The contract role, Fundraising Relationship Coordinator, is to support our Specialists in the effective delivery of Heart and Stroke's fundraising programs with a focus on our peer-to-peer initiatives. They will develop, maintain, engage, recognize and grow community supporter relationships. This will include the recruitment and stewardship of both returning and new constituents across Ontario in our Virtual Canvass, Fundraise Your Way and Memorial Programs. They will provide administrative and data entry support to our team as well as customer service and online fundraising platform support to our constituents.
(Please note this is a 12-month contract, covering a leave of absence. Candidates can work from anywhere in Canada.)
How you will make an impact every day
Administration of fundraising activities
Pull reports when requested from CRM and Crowd Change
Create prospect lists for Specialists
Complete data entry into CRM
Upload reports into trackers (3-5x a week)
Support event organizer with training and guidance on how to use our online fundraising platform.
Complete "thank you" calls
Coordination of fundraising activities
Call and email volunteers, canvassers and Fundraise Your Way organizers to confirm their participation
Work with the Specialists to support recruitment and customer service
Manage an assigned group of returning and new Fundraise Your Way organizers
Support constituents with fundraiser page setup/navigation
Complete recognition activities for returning and lapsed canvassers
Promote Fundraise Your Way and support recruitment activities leading up to February's Heart Month & June's Stroke Month
Call funeral homes, confirm current contacts and set up meetings for Specialists
Conduct virtual meetings with funeral homes to share information about H&S resources / support / Fundraise Your way Memorial Tribute pages
Who we need
Education
Post-secondary
Experience
Two to three years of related experience in administrative and customer service roles
Volunteer engagement and experience working with diverse communities
Experience and comfort developing new relationships and fundraising opportunities
Event planning, coordination and/or project management experience would be an asset
Skills
A professional and exceptional donor centric service approach
Strong technical abilities, computer skills and experience working with a CRM database and online fundraising platforms would be an asset
Proficient with remote technology, online and social platforms
Developing rapport virtually
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and customer service orientation
Highly organized with strong attention to detail
Proven ability to relate to and engage diverse groups of people.
High level of ownership, and accountability to goals, teamwork and following best practices
Proactive, self-motivated and resourceful
Flexible and adaptable; able to work in a fast paced, ever-changing environment; able to effectively manage a demanding schedule and prioritize responsibilities.
Valid driver's license, access to own vehicle is an asset
