As a Monday to Friday Café Experience Representative at our Home Office in Saint John NB, you will support our company strategy by creating a branded employee experience within the Café. Your goal will be to engage with employees (customers) by serving hot items, taking payments, keeping all café areas clean and stocked, and assisting with kitchen activities as required. Your success will ensure a positive customer service experience every time.

Kindly note this is a Monday to Friday daytime position.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Promote, work, and act in a manner consistent with the Irving Oil brand and the vision of our corporate cafe.
  • Provide employees with the highest level of customer service, demonstrated through a courteous demeanor, outstand service and the ability to exceed expectations
  • Report any deficiencies, staff issues and room for improvements to the café supervisor
  • Keep all Café areas stocked and clean during hours of operation
  • Plate and serve hot menu items to employees, following proper plate presentation and garnish set up for all dishes.
  • Complete payment transactions by effectively operating the Point of Sale technology
  • Stock and maintain sufficient levels of food products at line stations to support a smooth service period.
  • Receive inventory
  • Assist in food prep assignments during off-peak periods as needed.
  • Close the kitchen following the closing checklist for kitchen stations and assists others in closing the kitchen.
  • Attend all scheduled employee meetings and offer suggestions for improvement.
  • Coordinate with and assist fellow employees to meet employees' needs and support the operation of the Cafe.
  • Fill-in for fellow employees where needed to ensure service standards and efficient operations.

Your Skills:

  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
  • Excellent time management, organization, and multi-tasking skills
  • Strong communication skills and a friendly energetic attitude

Your Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalency
  • 3-5 years' experience in the food service industry
