Dispatcher - Concrete

Bedford Ready Mix has been in operation since 1985 and is a proud member of the OSCO Concrete. In addition to its shared resources with other OSCO Concrete members, the Bedford location also hosts a four-bay repair facility capable of handling the largest OSCO Concrete pumps in the fleet. This collaboration has made Bedford and its other OSCO Concrete members, one of the largest concrete suppliers in the Halifax Regional Municipality. Bedford performs a mix of residential work along with large-scale industrial/commercial projects. OSCO Concrete also operates a large fleet of concrete pumps, including the largest concrete boom pump east of Montreal.

Responsibilities:

• Managing production scheduling, planning and reporting
• Assisting with the supervision of staff, including driver scheduling
• Initiating and maintaining a healthy environment with respect to cleanliness, production and safety
• Other duties as required

Requirements:

• Excellent communication in English (written and spoken)
• Exceptional attention to detail
• Work hard to provide superior customer service
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced, always changing, deadline driven environment.
• Multi-tasking is very important in the role.
• Computer skills and experience is required.
• Must be able to work with changing schedules and irregular hours when required
• Own transportation - no public transportation available for shift start time.
• An understanding of concrete and/or the construction industry would be considered an asset but isn’t required.
