System Support Analyst

We are looking for a System Support Analyst to maintain and administer our company's networked system of computers. The system administrator's responsibilities include troubleshooting hardware, software, and networking issues, as well as ensuring that all computing operations run with optimal performance and security.

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, software applications, hardware & network infrastructure, network security, and other system management tools.
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal performance.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights.
  • Perform regular system backups and implement disaster recovery plans.
  • Collaborate with IT team members for new site setups from planning to the implementation phase of all supported infrastructure requirements.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in system administration.
  • Replacing and upgrading defective or outdated EOL/EOS components when necessary.
  • Research and recommend the latest trends and technologies for robust, secure, scalable, and efficient IT Infrastructure.
  • Analyze data (logs, traces) to identify problems and recommend solutions.
  • Ensure the quality of support requests by filtering out erroneous or incomplete requests to ensure that only genuine support issues are escalated.
  • Maintain concise records and prepare activity/status reports.
  • Coordinate with ISPs and Business Partners for rental equipment, contract renewals, adjustments & technical. Maintain Hardware Assets and participate in CMDB.
  • Coordinate with Internal & External Stakeholders for new Software Releases, Patching, Testing, Upgrades, Quality Assurance, and UATs.
  • Maintain an in-house Test Environment as a simulation of the production environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Skills & Requirements:

  • Degree or diploma in Computer Science or related field.
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years experience as a System Support Analyst for a Medium to Large Organization preferably in a Hybrid Infrastructure Environment (Cloud & On-Premises).
  • Data Center Experience would be beneficial & considered an advantage.
  • Experience in Microsoft Windows Server & Microsoft SQL Server Environments is preferred.
  • Experience in supporting and maintaining high-volume SQL Database Infrastructure Areas like Replication, High Availability, Optimization Schema, Disaster Recovery, etc.
  • Microsoft Azure Active Directory Experience is preferred including AD design and architecture. Must be capable of Creating, maintaining & supporting Local AD & its Replication to Azure AD. Group Policies, Security Policies, User Management, etc.
  • Solid knowledge of TCP/IP Network Stack and related services such as DNS, HTTPS, LDAPS, SMTP, and SNMP.
  • Must have Configuration & Troubleshooting Skills around various devices & services Firewalls, Routers, Managed Devices, Switches, Gateway, NSGs, Port Management.
  • Expert in design, configuration and maintenance of Software Technologies like VPNs, Payment Gateways, Resolving Customer Disputes, Charge Backs
  • Knowledge of Payment Technologies such as Moneris, PayPal, and Global Payments.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with POS Experience in a Retail Setting like Store Server Setup, POS Setup & Support, OPOS Peripheral Configurations and underlying Technologies, Communication Protocols, Network Configurations & Security, Advanced Configuration and Deployment of Various Hardware, Communication Devices & Monitoring Equipment’s like CCTVs, Firewalls, Routers & Managed Switches.
  • Ability to provide support via chat, email, and phone when needed.
  • Ability to prioritize a wide range of workloads with critical deadlines.
  • Strong planning, time-management, and organizational skills
  • Willingness to learn, teach, and develop the department.
  • Ability to think critically and analytically in a faced past environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills. Creativity and the ability to think outside of the box
  • Ability to coach individuals.
  • Valid Ontario driver's license since this role would require you to travel across Healthy Planet stores in Ontario
  • Ability to lift computer equipment
  • Should be flexible to adhere to work schedules based on business requirements
