Reporting to the Manager, Student Systems Support, the Student Systems Support Officer works within a functional operations team environment. The Student Systems Support Officer requires highly developed functional knowledge of the core student systems (including Banner, u.achieve (DARS), CourseLeaf, Tribal SITS/SID (CRM) used to support student academic records, audits & retention, affiliated services and functional processes. The incumbent requires in-depth knowledge of current and past University and Faculty rules, regulations and policies and responsible for maintaining up-to-date documentation, troubleshooting, and quickly resolving functional process problems.
The incumbent participates in the development of solutions, collects/defines user requirements, tests system functionality, and implements new processes to meet the mission, goals and objectives of the Registrar's Office, Academic Departments, the Academic Advising Center (AAC) and other affiliated offices of the Associate Vice-President (Student & Enrollment) & Registrar. They provide advice and leads the implementation of system enhancements/changes.
The incumbent must possess the following qualifications:

• Highly developed leadership and team building skills; interpersonal skills; communication, presentation and consultation skills are required.
• Excellent client service and conflict resolution skills to establish effective liaison and rapport with University staff; high level of tact and diplomacy; interviewing and group workshop skills; highly motivated self-starter with proven ability to work with minimal supervision are all essential to the position.
• Strong, in-depth knowledge of past and current university rules, regulations and policies and the ability to interpret their impact on program requirements/students, and the ability to apply them to system configurations
• Thorough understanding of systems and tools such as Banner and u.achieve (DARS), CourseLeaf, Tribal SITS/SID CRM and other 3rd party systems that interface with Banner
• Strong communication and analytical skills to consult with staff across the University to define user requirements, evaluate systems performance and suitability for project needs and to provide systems related advice
• Project management skills to manage system upgrades and changes.

• Ability to work independently and with accuracy
• Team leadership skills
• The incumbent must be available to work overtime as required.
The above is normally acquired through the completion of:
• Four (4) year post-secondary school program
• Five (5) years of related experience in an academic records environment
• An understanding of student systems development process and the University curriculum development process (and how it relates to/impacts on the student academic performance evaluations and academic audit results) is required.
