Job Description
The chosen candidate will serve on-site as a BTCL employee at designated Canadian Forces Base (CFB) in Petawawa,Ontario.
The EMST role involves overseeing the management of material requirements for the Bell embedded maintenance line. Key activities will include shipping/receiving, goods issuing, and returns for all aeronautical appliances and parts maintained under the material support program, including CR&O, tooling, and newly purchased Bell & non-Bell items specific to the CH146 Griffon/MKII. Their responsibilities encompass ensuring timely processing of these items following approved publications, procedures, standards, and regulations while prioritizing the highest levels of safety and quality in all tasks. Additionally, the EMST is accountable for verifying receipt, completeness, accuracy, traceability, and maintaining all necessary documentation. The EMST will play a key role in carrying out support to the Bell maintenance.
Responsibilities
Provide support to Bell maintenance line for the management of the warehousing, shipping, receiving, stock control and disposal of obsolete stock and equipment;
Process, issue and receiving items within the Defense Resource Management Information System (DRMIS) or Bell SAP system;
Process the return of items from the aircraft maintenance to Calgary facility for repair or other destination;
Issue items to aircraft maintenance staff upon request;
Handle and prepare items for shipping and with associated documents;
Perform recordkeeping, stocktaking and inventory control as per the Military Supply Administration Manual (SAM) and the BTCL AMSO Material Support Process Manual;
Coordinate with the DND Material Management Technician (MMT), the DND Life Cycle Material Manager (LCMM), and the Contractor Life Cycle Material Specialists (LCMS) on the repair and disposal functions,
Operate materials-handling equipment such as pallet jacks, dollies, and freight carts
Perform housekeeping duties within the maintenance lines or warehouse such as, but not limited to, the breakdown of boxes, cleaning of the work area, and cleaning of shelves;
Support to internal/external audits;
Participate in any maintenance or warehousing meetings;
On a rotation basis, support nightshift requirements. If required;
Enter required demand for spares parts in DRMIS or Bell SAP system and follow up with Calgary supply depo on deliveries;
Visually inspecting components for defects and configuration;
Verifying airworthiness documents ensuring they are complete and accurate;
Confirming and tracking applicable shelf life and preservation requirements;
Packaging of parts that meet or exceed customer requirements and or industry best practice;
Maintaining KPI’s set out by the Warehouse Supervisor;
Meeting department requirements related to quality and safety;
Perform minimum level of root cause analysis on material constraints or warehousing issues and support corrective actions;
Preform min max evaluation and recommendations.
Qualifications
Minimum required qualifications
Hold a High School diploma
Experience in a customer service organization (preferably aviation and/or warehouse related)
Experience in DRMIS or SAP
Demonstrated Microsoft Office skills considered an asset
Experience in logistics management principles preferred.
Demonstrated excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills required.
Knowledge of the regulatory requirements to be observed in handling aviation parts an asset
Prior Inventory Control procedures experience considered an asset.
Familiar with and have a good understanding of HazMat and dangerous goods requirements.
Any other combination of schooling and experience deemed equivalent may be considered.
