The Department of Medicine, Temerty Faculty of Medicine, at the University of Toronto is seeking applicants for the position of a Faculty Lead, Learning Support & Remediation. Applicants must be eligible for a full-time clinical academic appointment at the University of Toronto at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor; preference will be given to applicants with previous residency mentorship experience. The term appointment of the Faculty Lead, Learning Support & Remediation is three years with the possibility of one renewal following a successful review. Effective start date is April 1, 2025, or an alternative date as mutually agreed on.

The Faculty Lead, Learning Support & Remediation for the Department of Medicine will serve as a resource for Program Directors, providing expertise to navigate complex remediation processes while promoting an equitable and supportive learning environment for residents. This role also contributes to the development of departmental initiatives to enhance resident learning and success. The Faculty Lead, Learning Support & Remediation reports to the Vice Chair, Education.

The ideal candidate is a respected educator and innovative leader with strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a particular focus on resident learning support and remediation. A solid track record of educational leadership, mentorship, and program development would be a strong asset. They will play a key role in supporting residents facing academic challenges, ensuring they receive the necessary guidance and resources to achieve competency in their training and successfully progress in their careers.

Applicants must hold an MD degree, be certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in one of the medicine disciplines, or be eligible for certification in the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and licensure in Ontario. The Faculty Lead, Learning Support & Remediation will receive an annual stipend from the Department of Medicine.
