We are looking for someone who has experience in Mission Critical projects such as Data Centers with a focus in Electrical Engineering.

You as a MEP Manager will:

  • Responsible to directly manage safety, quality, and conformance to contract documents for project MEP scopes from project conception through turnover to Facility Management.
  • Supports preconstruction activities to ensure consistency with project procurement model.
  • Provide constructability and value engineering reviews.
  • Provide input to Project Managers and Superintendents for schedule development with regards to durations and sequencing of work within overall project schedule framework.
  • Provide leadership to M&E teams (internal and external)
  • Mentor and support professional development of junior/intermediate MEP resources.
  • Implement management process for mechanical and electrical RFI's and shop drawings and administrate mechanical/electrical project completion requirements.
  • Manage risk associated with MEP scopes utilizing knowledge of operational best practices and the owner's project requirements.
  • Assist in development of overall project budget, evaluation of tender packages and pricing, forecasting and monitoring project cash flows.
  • Contract & scope development, evaluation and identification of scope gaps, assessment and mediation.
  • Work collaboratively with electrical/mechanical/controls subcontractors to ensure project and team success.
  • Monitor and provide updates for MEP work within overall schedule.
  • Support Project Commissioning Authority and define roles and responsibility within construction team as it pertains to commissioning processes.
  • Establishes a clear line of communications between the Construction, Commissioning and FM teams, along with the proper protocols for issue identification and resolution.
  • Evaluate MEP monthly progress draws for accuracy and adherence to project cash flow model.
  • Define roles and reporting structure within MEP team to ensure M&E deficiencies are addressed and closed.

Is this the right role for you?

  • You have an Engineering/Mechanical degree or equivalent combination of technical training and industry memberships.
  • Experienced in the management of the projects end to end i.e. scope development, spec development, tendering review and evaluation, managing contractor installation, quality review, project closeout, etc.
  • You have minimum 10 years of mechanical and electrical construction experience
  • You have a working knowledge of current mechanical and electrical engineering systems, principles and practices
  • You have the ability to proactively identify and document any problems/conflicts and effectively manage and resolve them
