If so, consider this position on our Permissions Program and Analytics team in the Client Services and Permissions Branch, Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks where you will lead the planning, development, evaluation, implementation and monitoring of environmental permissions program improvement strategies, initiatives and projects.
The Branch The Client Services and Permissions Branch provides a variety of environmental permissions program client services.
The Division Responsible for providing the single point of access for, and leading, the transformation of environmental permissions programs using risk-based approaches and client service standards.

What can I expect to do in this role?
In this role, you will: • Manage and lead the planning, development and evaluation of strategic policies, legislation, regulations, plans and programs related to the Environmental Compliance Approval, Environmental Activity and Sector Registry, Permit to take Water and Brownfields Records of Site Condition permission programs • Lead and coordinate projects by establishing and managing project teams, preparing timelines, deliverables, project plans, schedules and budgets • Monitor, evaluate and report on efficiency and effectiveness of programs • Provide policy and program expertise and advice
How do I qualify?
Program, Policy and Performance Measurement Knowledge and Skills:
• You understand and can apply program and policy evaluation, monitoring, development, implementation and application techniques • You can interpret and apply legislation and regulations such as the Environmental Protection Act and Ontario Water Resources Act • You have experience with business planning, continuous improvement, and performance measurement principles and practices to facilitate business process improvements
Project Management and Planning Skills:
• You have project management experience to lead and manage projects, including determining resourcing, timelines, deliverable and assigning work • You can lead and provide guidance to project team members • You have organizational, planning and time management skills
Environmental Knowledge:
• You have knowledge of environmental planning, sciences and resource management • You know current and emerging environmental and technical trends and issues
Analytical, Issues and Risk Management Skills:
• You can resolve and/or recommend solutions to complex, sensitive, contentious environmental issues • You can research, summarize, evaluate and synthesize detailed information of diverse types and sources • You can conduct risk assessment and management and make recommendations/ provide advice
Interpersonal and Communication Skills:
• You have facilitation and negotiation skills to evaluate and resolve contentious/sensitive issues with stakeholders • You have consultation, influencing and consensus-building skills to conduct meetings and consultations and gain agreement and consensus • You have presentation skills to provide training and make presentations • You know how to draft a variety of written materials such as presentations, briefing materials, and reports and can communicate in technical and non-technical terms based on the audience • You know how to use computers and related software applications (e.g. word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, database, email)
