The Student Centre, part of the Education Department at Unity Health Toronto- St. Michael's Hospital, is currently seeking a highly organized, detailed, and results-oriented individual to help support a superior student experience for all learners and contribute to insightful data collection and evaluation.

The Student Centre's mission is to enhance the quality of the student experience by ensuring that all students receive uniform, relevant and effective resources and services within a multipurpose, inter-professional centre. The Student Centre is a welcoming environment that supports all student types including: Health Disciplines, Nursing, Medicine (undergraduate and postgraduate), and Administrative & Operational.

Key Responsibilities:

Work collaboratively with diverse teams within our hospital and university departments to streamline data management and the onboarding and registration process for our learners, ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience.

    • Provide exemplary customer service while registering and troubleshooting student placements, both in person and electronically.
    • Collect, analyze, and distribute valuable education metrics and learner related data. Engage in scholarly activities that contribute to the ongoing improvement of our programs.
    • Prepare quarterly reconciliation reports and ensure data accuracy for Medical Trainee Data submitted to the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care.
    • Serve as a point person both internally and externally for all matters related to Postgraduate Medical Education, from registration to residency stipends, ensuring clear communication and effective solutions.
    • Coordinate and streamline complex schedules;
    • Collaborate with the Student Centre team members to enhance student services and create a supportive educational environment.
    • Coordinate and lead select Student Centre committees, driving initiatives that support our educational mission.
    • Plan and manage engaging orientations and educational events. This includes establishing relationships with faculty to lead these programs and inviting them to teach sessions;

    Required Skills and Qualifications:

    · Proficiency in managing and analyzing data, demonstrating the ability to derive insights and support decision-making processes.

    · Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy, with strong time management skills to navigate a busy environment efficiently.

    · Superior verbal and written communication skills, with the confidence to engage effectively with internal and external partners at all organizational levels.

    · Proven ability to deliver excellent customer service, ensuring a positive experience for all learners and involved parties.

    · Ability to handle multiple conflicting priorities and projects in a fast-paced setting, consistently meeting deadlines with high accuracy.

    · Strong computer skills, with a particular emphasis on Microsoft Office; proven ability to use statistical related software i.e. Excel, SPSS

    · Experience in a student-focused environment, such as a university, college, or academic training hospital, is preferred, particularly in roles related to student support services or medical education.

    · Demonstrated experience in coordinating projects, showcasing your organizational and leadership abilities.

    · An undergraduate degree or an acceptable combination of equivalent experience.

    · Proven ability to work cooperatively within a team environment, as well as independently when required.

    · A demonstrated commitment to and understanding of the Mission and Values of Unity Health Toronto, aligning your work with our organizational goals.
