Job Summary

The Coordinator, Dangerous Goods is responsible for supporting the CN Dangerous Goods program. The role is accountable for support activities including Service Reliability Systems (SRS) and Systems, Applications, and Products (SAP) information processing, data management, and contributing to the completion of regulatory reporting. In addition, the incumbent provides support to the Dangerous Goods team field operations, outreach programs, and regulatory compliance.

Main Responsibilities

Data Management for Regulatory Reporting Requirements

· Assist in the tracking, compiling, and retention of incident statistics and data for use in regulatory, industry, and corporate reporting

· Handle and provide data support for SAP incident reporting

· Conduct quality control on incident reporting

· Support incident reporting for field responses and activities

· Extract and collate dangerous goods commodity flow information and commodity statistics

· Handle High Hazard Flammable Trains process

Program Coordination

· Vet and approve AskRail application requests from first responders, emergency communication centers, and regulatory agencies

· Handle AskRail application database, day-to-day, troubleshooting and approvals

· Assist Marketing to handle metrics and eligibility requirements for annual Safe Handling Awards program

· Assist the collating and dissemination of regulatory required reports to public entities

· Track reports, recipients, requests and provide information on the process and recipients to stakeholders

· Support the securement and renewals of CN's permits and registrations required to transport dangerous goods and regulated waste

Regulatory Requirements through CN Systems

· Handle commodity flow process, requests, validations, nondisclosure agreements

· Handle the Canutec database, the dangerous goods data, the distribution process, handling exceptions and discrepancies

Working Conditions

The role has standard working conditions in an office environment with a regular workweek from Monday to Friday occasionally working outside of regular business hours. Due to the nature of the role, the incumbent must be able to meet tight deadlines, handle pressure, and stress. The position may require minimal travel (up to 10%) throughout the US and Canada.

Experience

Professional or Customer-Oriented Environment

· Minimum 1 year of experience in a professional or customer-orientated environment

Education/Certification/Designation

· High School Diploma or General Educational Development
